Home Visiting

How Does it Work?

Meet with You for 90 Minutes

It is imperative that each family has a scheduled meeting with one of our designated home visitors, with the aim to conduct a 90-minute visit at some point throughout the month. If required, the 90-minute session may be divided into two 45-minute sessions or three 30-minute sessions. Our objective is to ensure that each visit is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Flexible Scheduling

We acknowledge that every household has distinct requirements, which is why we provide adaptable scheduling alternatives to accommodate your busy way of life. Our aim is to cater to your requirements while ensuring that you receive the highest level of service. We understand the importance of balancing personal and professional commitments, and therefore, we offer scheduling options that are customized to your individual needs.

Discuss the First Born Curriculum

The First Born curriculum is designed to promote the overall growth of children between the ages of zero and five, covering all aspects of their development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains. Our approach is diverse, incorporating a wide range of activities that help caregivers and families of young children feel confident and happy while raising healthy children. These activities cover topics such as coaching, support, and information about early childhood development, health, nutrition, and safety.

Screenings

Our team of experts conducts thorough assessments to determine the unique requirements of each family. The information provided is then evaluated against a set of predefined screening thresholds, with a corresponding score assigned to each family. To accomplish this, we employ a range of screening tools, which are used periodically to ensure that our assessments remain up-to-date and relevant. Please find below a comprehensive list of the screening tools we utilize.

  • Maternal-Child Health Information (MCH)
  • Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3 & ASQ-SE2)
  • Parenting Interactions with Children: Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes (PICCOLO)
  • Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS)
  • Relationship Assessment Tool (RAT)
  • Family Satisfaction Survey (FSS)
Community Resources

We’re here to keep you informed and connected with your community. Stay up-to-date with the latest local events, support groups, and volunteer opportunities. We believe that staying connected is essential for your well-being, and we’re committed to making it easy for you to access the information you need.

Incentives

At our organization, we understand that raising a child can be a challenging task, and we want to support you every step of the way. To assist you in this journey, we offer a range of incentives that are designed to make your life easier and help you provide the best possible care for your child.
